Scholarships and Sponsoring

Our greatest need at F.R.E.E. is funding for our educational programs. Please visit our Sponsor page for more information.

Richard Henderson Scholarship FunD

In loving memory of our dear friend and partner Richard Henderson who passed away on November 22, 2018 we have created a tuition scholarship fund in his name in honor of the many years of service he dedicated to helping those around him. Even before the creation of Friends of Refugees Providing Education and Empowerment he was active in reaching out a helping hand (always with a word of prayer) to the refugee community of Clarkston, Stone Mountain, and surrounding areas in the greater Atlanta area of Georgia. Please click the donate button to give now.

Aside from tuition assistance, F.R.E.E. provides tutoring, Adult ESL classes, and assistance with job hunting. An event called Flag Camp takes place to help connect positive role models to our refugee children through play and positive interaction.

Backpacks & shoes for kids

F.R.E.E. works with outside programs and church groups to provide school supplies, backpacks, and shoes for our elementary and high school students.

Medical and Dental Care

F.R.E.E. sets up appointments and transports refugees back and forth to their appointments.

Community Clean up

F.R.E.E. often assists with neighborhood beautification in poverty stricken areas. This includes painting and repairing apartments, preparing ground for garden planting , and trash cleanup around the refugee homes.
